Mastro’s Ocean Club, a renowned steakhouse located in Newport Beach, is poised for renovations throughout 2024. Situated at 8112 East Coast Hwy along the picturesque Crystal Cove coastline, the establishment has submitted renovation plans to the Orange County Health Care Agency. These plans, initially submitted in November 2023, have faced challenges, as they were marked as “unable to approve” by the agency. The county is currently awaiting a revised submission from the restaurant.
Mark Levy, President and COO of Mastro’s, confirmed to What Now OC that the renovations will coincide with the renewal of the restaurant’s lease. The planned updates include enhancements to the interior, as well as the addition of a patio enclosure. Notably, Mastro’s Ocean Club will continue to operate without interruptions during this period, ensuring that guests can enjoy their dining experience as usual.
The restaurant’s hours of operation vary throughout the week. It welcomes diners from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Sundays, 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM from Monday to Wednesday, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Thursdays and Fridays, and 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturdays. Each evening, guests can also enjoy live music performances, with a formal dress code in effect.
Mastro’s Ocean Club is celebrated for its extensive menu, featuring prime steaks, seafood towers, sushi, and signature sides, including the highly praised Warm Butter Cake. The bar offers a range of handcrafted cocktails, award-winning wines, and premium spirits. The Newport Beach location has garnered accolades, being named Best Steakhouse in the Best of Orange County 2024 and receiving the Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence in 2025.
