A new coffee shop, named Desert Kid Coffee, is set to open in Palm Desert, California, at 44850 San Pablo Avenue. The establishment is being developed by Katie Reed, a local entrepreneur with deep ties to the Coachella Valley. Construction is currently underway, with plans for the shop to debut in December 2023.
The site, which spans 5,402 square feet, was originally built in 1955 and is being leased by Wilson Meade Commercial Real Estate. A construction fence has recently been erected, signaling the start of renovations, which are expected to be completed by mid-November. The location benefits from ten dedicated parking spots and is situated within a retail corridor that has recently received an $8.5 million investment to enhance the area’s appeal.
Reed, who has returned to her hometown of Palm Desert after a decade in the tech and healthcare industries, expressed her enthusiasm for this new venture. She began her career in local restaurants, including Outback Steakhouse and Mikado Sushi Japanese Restaurant, before venturing into other sectors. Her experience has equipped her with the skills necessary to launch and manage a successful coffee business.
As the community anticipates the opening of Desert Kid Coffee, Reed aims to create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects her passion for the region and its residents. The establishment promises to be a new gathering spot for locals and visitors alike, contributing to the vibrant culture of Palm Desert.
