Plans are underway for the opening of a new establishment, the Dany Sports Bar, located at 5650 W Diversey Avenue in Chicago. A liquor license application has been submitted, marking the first step towards its anticipated launch around the New Year. The bar will occupy the site previously home to Okicim, a well-known local venue.
Owner Dionicio Arguello expressed his excitement about the venture in an interview with What Now Chicago, highlighting that the bar will initially focus on a drink menu featuring cocktails and beer. While there are plans to potentially expand the offerings to include food in the future, that will not be part of the initial launch.
Strategic Location and Community Impact
The Dany Sports Bar will be situated adjacent to the Golden Tuzo restaurant and near the intersection of W Diversey and N Major avenues. This area is known for its vibrant community and is home to several Latino-owned businesses, including Taqueria Diversey directly across the street.
Belmont Central, the neighborhood in which the bar will be located, is approximately a half-hour drive from downtown Chicago. This strategic positioning is expected to attract both local residents and visitors alike, enhancing the area’s nightlife options.
Future Developments
As construction progresses, Arguello indicated that he will share more information about the opening and the bar’s offerings. Currently, no social media platforms have been established for the business, which suggests that updates will primarily come through traditional media channels for the time being.
With the Dany Sports Bar set to join the dynamic landscape of W Diversey Avenue, it promises to become a new hotspot for cocktail enthusiasts in the Belmont Central neighborhood.
