Wildlife wrangler and television personality Matt Wright has put his stunning property in Virginia, Northern Territory on the market for $1.39 million. The unique sale includes his pet saltwater crocodile, named Spicy, offering a rare twist to the real estate listing.
The expansive property spans nearly eight acres and features a modern, architecturally designed home. With glass walls and open-plan living spaces, it caters to both comfort and luxury. The residence has been extensively renovated by Wright and his wife, Kaia, over the past nine years, transforming it into what they describe as a “minimalist treehouse” nestled in the tropical landscape.
In a recent Instagram tour, Wright showcased the property, highlighting its impressive features such as soaring ceilings, polished concrete floors, and a chef’s kitchen. The home also includes spacious wraparound verandahs that provide stunning views of the surrounding bushland. The design emphasizes a connection to nature, with a custom-built pen for Spicy located in the backyard, complete with a croc-safe viewing area.
Wright, known for his role in the reality show Outback Wrangler, emphasized the hard work that went into creating the home. He jokingly noted, “If you really, really want the place … I’ll even leave you with Spicy,” as the crocodile unexpectedly leaped from its pond during the video tour.
Despite the light-hearted nature of the property listing, Wright’s life has not been without controversy. He is currently facing legal troubles related to a helicopter crash in 2022 that resulted in the death of his co-star Chris Wilson and left pilot Sebastian Robinson with permanent injuries. The Northern Territory Police allege that Wright attempted to interfere with the investigation following the incident. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
