Amelia Tank, the wife of singer Olly Murs, has candidly shared her difficult recovery experience following the birth of their daughter, Madison, in April 2024. The couple welcomed Madison after an unplanned C-section, which Tank described as a far cry from her expectations of a natural delivery. As she prepares to welcome their second child, Tank expressed her desire for more honesty about the challenges of postpartum recovery.

Tank, 32, revealed to OK! Magazine that the birth was complicated due to Madison being in a transverse position. “We were planning a natural birth, but Madi was in a precarious position. She was transverse so we didn’t have an option,” she explained. The physical toll of recovery took her by surprise. “The recovery was brutal and I wish people had been more honest about that,” she said. She reflected on how her active lifestyle did not prepare her for the limitations she faced afterward, admitting, “I didn’t know how much I wouldn’t be able to do afterwards.”

As Tank navigates the emotional landscape of expecting another child, she has voiced concerns about managing two children under the age of two. “My emotions change week by week as I get closer to having the baby. We can’t wait to meet who’s in there and see Madi with a sibling,” she shared. Yet, the prospect of having two young children at once also leaves her feeling “overwhelmed.”

In response to Tank’s feelings of uncertainty, Murs, 41, encouraged her to trust in their parenting abilities. He stated, “We know we can do it and it’s going to be fine. The most important thing is that the baby is healthy.” This reassurance comes as the couple prepares for a significant change in their family dynamic.

Murs has also opened up about his own feelings of guilt regarding his work commitments shortly after Madison’s birth. He recalled, “Two days after Madison was born I had to go on tour supporting Take That.” While Tank received support from her mother and Murs’ parents, he acknowledged the difficulty of balancing work and family. “It was hard and I felt guilty,” he said. Murs emphasized that he intends to change his approach this time around, asserting, “Second time round I’m not going anywhere.”

In sharing her story, Tank highlights the often-overlooked difficulties of postpartum recovery and the emotional challenges faced by new parents. Her honesty sheds light on the realities of childbirth and the importance of support during this transformative time.
