Filming of the popular series Emily in Paris has been suspended following the unexpected death of assistant director Diego Borella, who collapsed during a shoot in Venice. Borella, aged 47, died at the scene while working at the renowned Hotel Danieli on August 21, 2025.
In an official statement provided to People, a spokesperson for Paramount Television Studios expressed their sorrow, stating, “We are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the Emily in Paris production family. Borella was an experienced professional who had trained in major cities including Rome, London, and New York.
