Kate Cassidy paid tribute to her late boyfriend, Liam Payne, on what would have been his 32nd birthday. The former One Direction star tragically passed away on October 2024, at the age of 31, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. In an emotional message shared on Instagram, Cassidy expressed her profound sorrow and longing for the moments they shared.
In her heartfelt post, Cassidy wrote, “My dearest Liam, it breaks my heart being that I can’t hand you a physical birthday card today. That I can’t hear your laugh, or tell you all the things I wish I’d said a thousand more times.” Reflecting on their time together, she acknowledged the joy and hope he brought into her life and the lives of many others.
Cassidy continued, “Today, you would have been 32. In your 31 years here on this earth, you brought so much joy, happiness, and hope to so many—especially to me.” She conveyed her belief that his spirit continues to shine brightly, stating, “I hope you know how brightly you still shine, even from up there.”
In a poignant declaration, she shared, “I would give up years of my life just to give you a few more. I miss making memories with you. I miss having things to look forward to together.” As a way to honor Liam, Cassidy promised to celebrate him on this special day, adding that the date of August 29th would remain etched in her heart forever.
Accompanying her message were several photographs of the couple, capturing moments of their relationship.
Earlier this year, in an interview with The Sun newspaper, Cassidy opened up about the ongoing struggle to cope with Liam’s death. At just 26 years old, she revealed that thoughts of him occupied her mind “every second of every day.” She admitted that the reality of his absence felt surreal, stating, “It still doesn’t feel fully real for me that he’s not here. Sometimes I’ll wake up and it’s a reality I have to face for the rest of my life.”
Cassidy’s heartfelt remembrance of Liam Payne serves as a poignant reminder of the deep personal connections that endure beyond tragedy.
