Former Spice Girls star Melanie Chisholm, widely known as Mel C, has revealed the unconventional way she met her current partner, Australian model-actor Chris Dingwall. In a recent episode of the podcast Life Uncut, the 51-year-old singer discussed her journey back into the dating world following the end of her long-term relationship with her manager, Joe Marshall, in 2022.
Chisholm admitted she was initially reluctant to date again but found encouragement from friends during a night out. In November 2023, she connected with Dingwall, who resides in Sydney. The pair arranged a dinner date during her DJ tour, and Mel C expressed her desire for a partner who would be supportive yet allow her space. She stated that she wanted someone “separate but not interfering” and not “under my feet.” According to her, Dingwall meets these criteria perfectly.
Their relationship gained public attention in July 2024 when they were spotted together at Wimbledon, marking a shift from their previously low-key romance. Mel C described Dingwall as “a real gentle soul,” noting his quiet yet supportive presence in her life. “He’s wonderful,” she added, highlighting the positive impact he has had on her since they first met.
