The recent semi-final of Channel 7’s *Dancing With The Stars* ended in disappointment for contestant Mia Fevola, who was eliminated just before the grand finale. Despite being one of the highest-scoring competitors this season, the 25-year-old brand influencer expressed her heartbreak over not being able to perform her final routine with partner Gustavo Viglio.
Reflecting on her journey, Fevola shared with *Yahoo Lifestyle* that she felt particularly upset about missing out on a dance she described as “really special.” The routine, set to a song by Billie Eilish, symbolised her growth throughout the competition. She explained, “It was sort of a representation of my growth throughout the show and the journey of building the confidence.”
Intense Training and Short Timelines
The pressure of the competition was amplified by a tight training schedule. Fevola noted that this season’s contestants faced a significantly shorter timeframe to prepare for multiple dances, making the learning process challenging. “By the time you’ve just started learning the actual steps and the routine, you’re probably three or four days in, and then you’ve got really only a couple of days left to nail the actual technique,” she explained.
In an Instagram post, she documented her struggles with mastering the foxtrot, humorously admitting, “It was by our fourth dance that I started combining the steps of two dances together by accident.” The contestants had to juggle various dance styles each week, which added to the difficulty of keeping track of their progress.
The grand finale, taking place on August 4, will feature six remaining celebrities: Brittany Hockley, Felicity Ward, Kyle Shilling, Michael Usher, Shaun Micallef, and Trent Cotchin. Fevola expressed admiration for her fellow contestants, stating, “There’s so much talent in that group, and the competition is so strong. I just think everyone has such a unique strength.”
As fans await the conclusion of this season of *Dancing With The Stars*, Fevola remains supportive of her peers and excited to see who will take home the coveted mirrorball trophy. The grand finale airs at 19:30 on Channel 7 and can also be streamed on 7plus.
This season has proven to be a remarkable experience for all involved, showcasing the hard work and dedication required to compete in such a demanding environment.
