Sabrina Carpenter has officially launched her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, during a recent event hosted by Spotify in Los Angeles. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter expressed her enthusiasm for the new record, highlighting its focus on personal experiences that she felt compelled to document.
At the event, Carpenter described her creative process as one that embraced spontaneity. “This creative process was all about sort of embracing spontaneity, all about embracing impulses that I was having and experiences that I was having that were really urgent to write about,” she stated. She emphasized the importance of capturing this particular chapter of her life through her music, stating, “If I didn’t make this album, and have it represent the chapter of my life that it represents, that it would have turned into something else… and I think that would have done it a disservice.”
The album comprises 12 songs, including the lead single, Manchild, as well as tracks titled We Almost Broke Up Last Night and Don’t Worry I’ll Make You Worry. Carpenter shared her gratitude for the opportunity to create music that resonates with her and her fans.
During a fan Q&A session, Carpenter addressed the topic of self-doubt that often accompanies releasing new music. “I get so excited to put things out. But as any artist does… it’s also very scary and vulnerable,” she noted. To counteract feelings of uncertainty, she employs a motivational mantra, stating, “So many b****** wish they were you!”
Carpenter’s album release marks a significant milestone in her career, demonstrating her growth as an artist while maintaining a strong connection with her audience. As she continues to embrace her creative impulses, fans can look forward to the unique narratives woven throughout Man’s Best Friend.
