He stated, “I have not been invited back,” adding that he last appeared at the event four years ago. Rogen humorously recalled his concerns about the setup, remarking on the misleading description of the venue as an outdoor space. He said, “They said this was outdoors. It is not. They lied to us. We are in a hermetically sealed tent right now.”
Rogen’s reaction during the pandemic ceremony garnered attention when he acknowledged the uncomfortable environment, suggesting that the setup could endanger the health of attendees, particularly older guests like Eugene Levy. He expressed his reluctance to participate in the scripted comedy bit, saying, “I can’t ignore this. We’re going to kill these old … Eugene Levy’s here. We’re going to kill Eugene Levy. I don’t want to do that.”
