Chelsea’s day involved managing a lively group of eleven miniature pinschers in the dog pavilion. As she brushed their coats and kept them entertained, she also engaged with curious visitors asking questions about the breed. “Is that a chihuahua?” and “Do they catch rats and mice?” were common inquiries. Demonstrating her expertise, Chelsea answered each question while ensuring the dogs were well-behaved.
On September 24, she and her mother, Kimberly Berlyn, proudly exhibited their dog Jagger, who won Best of Breed. Chelsea plans to return later in the week with their other dog, a schipperke named Sir Tristan, for further judging.
For Chelsea, the excitement of the show lies not in the rides or the flashy showbags, but in the competition. Having first participated in the show at the age of four, she has cultivated a deep passion for dog handling. “It’s always about the competition side for me instead of the showbags and the candy and the rides,” she stated.
