Two men associated with Beyoncé‘s tour reported that their rental car was broken into in Atlanta, resulting in the theft of hard drives containing unreleased music, concert set lists, and show plans. The incident occurred on July 8, 2023, while the artists were in the city for the Cowboy Carter tour.

Christopher Grant and Diandre Blue, identifying themselves as a choreographer and a dancer for Beyoncé, parked their rented 2024 Jeep Wagoneer for approximately one hour in a parking garage at the Krog Street Market. During this time, someone smashed the vehicle’s rear window and stole two suitcases that contained their personal belongings, according to a police report released by the Atlanta Police Department.

The stolen items included hard drives with unreleased music, which contained watermarked tracks intended to prevent piracy, along with set lists for past and future performances. The report did not clarify if the hard drives were stored inside the suitcases that were taken. Additionally, a 13-inch MacBook Air was reported as stolen during the incident.

Police noted that a placeholder value of $1 was assigned to each of the stolen hard drives in the report. Officers dusted the vehicle for fingerprints, finding two faint prints, and reviewed security footage that recorded the break-in. Notably, a pair of AirPods Max headphones, also stolen, can be tracked via GPS. This led officers to a suspect described as suspicious, although their identity has not yet been confirmed.

As of now, the suspect remains at large, with Officer John Predmore of the Atlanta Police stating that their identity is not available for release. Beyoncé’s representatives have not commented on the incident, and efforts to reach Grant and Blue for further details have not been successful.

On the night of the theft, Beyoncé was scheduled to conclude the Atlanta leg of her Cowboy Carter tour at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, marking her fourth concert in the city over a five-night period. The event took place in a bustling area known for its mix of landmark properties and food offerings.

This incident has raised concerns about security measures for artists and their teams while on tour, especially concerning sensitive material such as unreleased music. The investigation continues as authorities work to apprehend the individual responsible for this crime.
