Radio ratings for the final quarter of 2025 have revealed a remarkable surge in listenership for Triple M, with the station gaining an additional 28,000 listeners. According to the latest GFK radio ratings, released on January 2, 2026, the station’s audience share grew by 9.3 percent during the October to December period. This growth was noticeable across all major timeslots, particularly in breakfast, where the duo of Xav Ellis and Katie Lamb achieved their second-best result ever.
In Perth, Xav & Katie’s breakfast show now boasts 215,000 listeners, marking a significant increase from 10.6 percent to 13 percent in listenership. This performance places the show as the second-most popular breakfast program in the city, showcasing one of the most substantial gains in the competitive market.
Despite Triple M’s impressive growth, Nova 93.7 continues to dominate the airwaves in Perth with 650,000 listeners tuning in over the festive period. The station’s long-running breakfast show, featuring Nathan, Nat and Shaun, remains the most listened to, although it experienced a decline of 28,000 fans. This latest survey marks the 51st consecutive survey in which Nova’s breakfast program has secured the top position in Perth, even in the absence of host Nathan Morris, who has been dealing with personal legal matters since March.
In the broader landscape, Nova also retains its status as the leading commercial station in both Adelaide and Brisbane for the demographic aged 25 to 54. The second-most listened to station in Perth is Mix 94.5, attracting 560,000 listeners, despite its breakfast team, led by Pete and Kymba, losing 25,000 fans in the latest survey after Ben Cousins departed the team. Cousins is expected to return as a regular guest in the upcoming year.
The third and fourth positions in listener rankings have been claimed by 96FM (now Gold) and Triple M, with respective audiences of 490,000 and 412,000. Meanwhile, the Gold Network is set for a change in the drive timeslot, with Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller taking over from Craig “Huggy” Huggins, who recorded a slight decline of 0.4 percent in his final survey.
On the AM band, ABC Perth saw a 1.5 percent increase in its audience, with the afternoon timeslot gaining the most listeners, climbing from 80,000 to 100,000. In a strategic move, Oliver Peterson, a former presenter at 6PR, is set to lead the Drive program at ABC Perth following the announcement that previous host Gary Adshead would step down at the end of the year.
As radio stations continue to adapt and compete for audience attention, the latest ratings highlight the dynamic nature of the industry and the shifting preferences of listeners across the country.
