Neusoft Medical Systems has achieved a significant milestone in medical imaging with the launch of the NeuViz P10, the first photon-counting computed tomography (CT) scanner to receive approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). This groundbreaking technology not only marks a pivotal moment for the Chinese healthcare sector but also introduces the world’s first wide-body system equipped with an 8-centimeter detector.
The NeuViz P10 utilizes a novel approach to imaging, employing a cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector that captures and converts X-ray photons directly into digital signals. This contrast to conventional CT scanners—which first convert X-rays into light—enables the NeuViz P10 to provide images with enhanced clarity, reduce radiation exposure for patients, and improve the differentiation of various tissue types.
The benefits of this innovative technology extend to patient care, allowing for clearer visualization of intricate blood vessels in the heart, earlier detection of small tumors, and more accurate identification of neurological conditions. Moreover, the system offers safer lung examinations with reduced radiation exposure, leading to improved patient outcomes. The ultra-high resolution of the NeuViz P10 facilitates earlier disease detection, when treatment is often more effective.
Innovative Platforms Enhance Functionality
To maximize its clinical and research capabilities, the NeuViz P10 integrates four advanced platforms: NeuPhoton Counting, Photon Supersonic, Photon Intelligence, and Photon Research. These platforms collectively enable faster scanning, safer imaging processes, intelligent workflow support, and expanded clinical research opportunities.
Patrick Wu, CEO of Neusoft Medical Systems, emphasized the significance of this technology for both China’s medical imaging industry and global CT innovation. “The approval of NeuViz P10 empowers radiologists with clearer images at lower doses,” he stated. “This advancement provides patients with earlier and more accurate diagnoses while maximizing clinical value for public health.”
Neusoft Medical Systems has established itself as a global leader in medical imaging solutions. The company is committed to integrating artificial intelligence technologies with medical imaging to deliver intelligent, efficient, and reliable products and services. As of the end of 2024, Neusoft Medical Systems operated in over 120 countries and regions, serving more than 14,000 customers with a historical installed base exceeding 50,000 units.
With the introduction of the NeuViz P10, Neusoft Medical Systems is poised to reshape the landscape of medical imaging in China and beyond, reinforcing its mission to enhance the accessibility and equity of global healthcare.
