Her family operates a mixed farming business that includes sheep, cattle, and cropping. Before her university studies, she dedicated a gap year to working full-time on the family farm, which deepened her understanding of animal health and land management.
Isabelle’s journey continued with hands-on experience at a vertical spinach farm in Sydney. She described the environment as chaotic yet invigorating, stating, “It was chaotic, but I thrived on it. Turns out, startups and farming have a lot in common.” This experience equipped her with problem-solving skills and insights into agricultural technology, which she now seeks to apply on a broader scale.

A significant milestone in Isabelle’s career has been her selection for the Horizon Scholarship, sponsored by AgriFutures Australia. This program offers financial backing, mentorship, and practical industry placements, empowering young leaders like her to advance their careers in agriculture. “I met a Horizon Scholar at an agricultural conference when I was eighteen. She told me all about it and it sounded amazing, so I wrote ‘apply for Horizon Scholarship’ in my notes and waited four years. Now, I’m here, and it’s everything I hoped for,” Isabelle reflected.
