Jules Neale has publicly addressed her separation from her husband, AFL player Lachie Neale, through a recent social media post. The update comes after Lachie confirmed the couple’s split during a press conference on December 8, 2023. In her video, Jules is seen engaging in a craft session with friends, accompanied by a caption encouraging others to gather and plan for the future.
In the video, the vision board prominently featured affirmations such as “good things are coming,” “I attract love,” and “the love I deserve is on its way.” This post marks her first since the news of their separation became public, and reflects her focus on positivity as she navigates this difficult period.
During the press conference, Lachie Neale, a dual Brownlow medallist and former co-captain of the Brisbane Lions, expressed regret over the separation. “I can confirm that with regret Jules and I have now separated,” he stated. He acknowledged the pain he caused his family, saying, “I have let my family down and I apologise for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me. For that I am deeply sorry.” Lachie also expressed disappointment in himself and took full responsibility for the end of their relationship.
Just days before the official announcement, Jules used her Instagram platform to voice her feelings of betrayal. She stated, “I want to make it very clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything. I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.” She emphasized her commitment to healing and prioritizing the well-being of their children, Piper, aged four, and Freddie, aged one.
Following the confirmation of their separation, Jules removed both Lachie and her former close friend, influencer Tess Crosley, from her social media accounts. Reports indicate that she and the children have returned to Perth, where Lachie began his AFL career with Fremantle.
At the press conference, Lachie expressed his intent to focus on rebuilding trust with Jules and ensuring their children’s future well-being. “I understand as a public figure there is interest in my personal life, however I do ask the privacy of Jules and my children be respected as we work through our new situation and the next chapter of our lives,” he said. He acknowledged the need for personal growth and assured, “I’ve put plans and measures in place to do the work on myself so that I can be the best version of myself moving forward.”
As both parents embark on this new chapter, the focus remains on their children and the journey ahead.
