Nissan Australia has awarded a brand-new Nissan Patrol Ti-L to winners Beth and her son Travers following an innovative competition that engaged nearly 1,000 entrants. This contest involved participants deciphering clues to locate the SUV hidden in South Australia’s stunning Bendleby Ranges.

Entrants were challenged to identify a location on a map based on three clues and then submit a video detailing their off-road driving experience and motivation for participating. After a thorough selection process, judges narrowed the field down to five finalist pairs, who all gathered for the final event in the picturesque Flinders Ranges.

The competition faced an unexpected twist when heavy rainfall transformed the dry landscape into a muddy challenge. As a result, the Nissan team adapted the competition format, breaking it into three distinct tasks to determine the winner based on points accumulated throughout the day.

Each couple began the event by driving a Nissan Patrol through a challenging off-road loop in wet conditions. They were tasked with locating a hidden Patrol camouflaged in the bush and capturing a photograph of it. Competitors aimed to take multiple photos, but only one submission was allowed for judging. Judges awarded points based on the accuracy of the location discovered.

Following the off-road challenge, the couples participated in a quiz featuring questions about the Nissan Patrol and the surrounding Bendleby and Flinders Ranges. Points were awarded for each correct answer, further contributing to their total scores.

The final task tested the participants’ skills using metal detectors to locate a hidden key within an old shearing shed. With only five minutes on the clock, contestants raced against time to find the key, with points awarded based on how quickly they succeeded.

After a day filled with excitement and camaraderie, the results were announced. Beth and Travers emerged victorious, with Travers describing the experience as “life-changing.” The win holds particular significance for their family, as Travers and his wife are expecting their second child. The duo had previously agreed that if he won, he would fill the Patrol’s seats with grandchildren.

Upon receiving the keys to their brand-new Nissan Patrol Ti-L, Travers revealed plans to take his family on their first trip to Beth’s farm, marking a new chapter in their lives together.

This contest not only showcased the capabilities of Nissan’s flagship off-road SUV but also highlighted the thrill of adventure and family bonding that comes with such unique experiences.
