Renault has streamlined its Master commercial van lineup for 2025, now offering only medium- and long-wheelbase variants. The previous Extra Long Wheelbase (LWB) option has been discontinued, leaving the Master available exclusively in Pro trim. The medium-wheelbase (MWB) variant is priced at $55,200, while the long-wheelbase variant costs $57,200, both before on-road expenses.
In an effort to attract business customers, Renault Australia is currently offering the MWB variant to Australian Business Number (ABN) holders for $57,990 drive-away until September 30, 2025. The company has reported a strong supply of the Master, indicating a commitment to meet customer demand in the commercial vehicle market.
The Master’s engine is a single option: a 2.3-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder paired with a six-speed automated manual transmission. Notably, the manual transmission has been removed from the lineup, reflecting industry trends towards more automated systems for commercial vehicles.
As Renault’s largest model, the Master is also its best-selling vehicle in Australia. By the end of June 2023, Renault had delivered 1,074 Master cargo vans, surpassing sales of the mid-size van and crossover SUV categories, which recorded 516 and 424 sales, respectively. The Master outsold other models, including the 943 and 15, although it was outperformed by competitors with 1,341 and 2,026 sales figures.
Renault does not disclose specific fuel economy or carbon dioxide emissions figures for the Master. However, the vehicle is supported by a comprehensive five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. Scheduled servicing is required every twelve months or after 30,000 km, whichever occurs first. The cost for the first five services is capped at $599, with the exception of the four-year or 120,000 km service, which has a higher cost of $1,259.
Safety features come standard with the Master, ensuring that the vehicle meets the necessary requirements for commercial operations. Options for customization are available, allowing customers to select from various exterior paint finishes.
Renault’s commitment to the Master underscores its significance in the commercial vehicle segment, highlighting the brand’s adaptability in a competitive market. As businesses continue to seek reliable delivery solutions, the updated Master aims to meet their needs with enhanced specifications and competitive pricing.
