On November 8, 2025, the city of Wuxi, located in Jiangsu Province, hosted the 2025 China International Intelligent Communication Forum. This significant event was co-organized by the China Media Group (CMG) and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. The forum served as a platform for unveiling various major projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing communication capabilities in the intelligent era.
Key Initiatives and Projects Announced
Among the noteworthy announcements was the release of the 2025 China Cities International Intelligent Communication Capability Ranking by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. This ranking assesses cities based on their communication capabilities and serves as a benchmark for future development. Additionally, the forum saw the launch of the Yangtze River Delta Base of Global Language Service Platform, a collaborative effort involving CCTV.com, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), and Jiangnan University.
During the event, representatives signed agreements for 14 priority cultural industry projects in Wuxi. The ceremony highlighted a commitment to bolstering the cultural sector and fostering international collaboration. Another significant part of the program was the launch of a city image-themed micro-series, designed to enhance Wuxi’s global presence.
Distinguished Speakers and Global Youth Engagement
The forum featured a diverse lineup of speakers, including prominent figures such as Huang Wei, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Dmitry Palchunov, an academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering; and Churchill Otieno, president of the African Editors Forum. The presence of these leaders underscored the event’s international significance and its role in fostering dialogue across borders.
Another highlight was the Global Youth Roundtable, where young leaders shared their experiences and perspectives on intelligent communication. Participants included Chen Ming, a host and debater; Zhu Yiran, the film director of Shenzhou 13; Mohamed Jihad, an expert from the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration; Laurence Larson, a New Zealand Mandopop singer-songwriter; and Ana Rivas, the Americas champion of the 23rd “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students.
These discussions aimed to demonstrate the vital role of youth in shaping the future of communication in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
In addition to the main forum, a series of events were organized, including the AI Digital Human Forum, the Wuxi Forum on the International Communication of City Image, and the Wuxi Film Forum. These sessions provided further opportunities for dialogue and exchange of ideas among international participants.
