UPDATE: The 2025 Beijing International Audiovisual Conference is underway, taking place from November 27 to 28. This pivotal event, organized by the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, is focusing on the theme “GATHER MOMENTUM FOR SYMBIOSIS, PIONEER THE FUTURE OF VISION.”

Guest representatives from over 20 countries and regions are gathering to discuss urgent matters surrounding high-quality industry development and international collaboration. The conference features one opening ceremony, a main forum, and ten themed forums, making it a significant platform for innovation and dialogue.

During the opening ceremony, officials unveiled the Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of the “AI + Audiovisual” Industry in Beijing (2025–2029). This critical initiative aims to enhance AI adoption within the audiovisual sector, focusing on technology research and development, practical applications, and ecosystem growth.

In a groundbreaking announcement, the 2025 Funding Projects from the Beijing Radio and Television Online Audiovisual Development Fund were disclosed, supporting a total of 161 outstanding projects across seven categories including TV dramas, documentaries, and animated works.

The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area is promoting its vision to become a new hub for innovation in the high-tech audiovisual industry. This initiative underscores its commitment to building a comprehensive ecosystem for audiovisual production.

Additionally, the Bank of Beijing introduced the Financial Service Plan for New Quality Audiovisual Productivity, which promises comprehensive financial support aimed at bolstering industry growth.

The conference also launched the Beijing Big Audiovisual “Jing Langya” Master Studio, highlighting the city’s advancements in developing a multi-tier audiovisual talent matrix.

Key speakers are addressing the impact of AI on the industry. Notable insights were shared by:
Xiong Chengyu, who discussed online audiovisual production techniques in the AI era.
Luc Bénaz, who explored collaboration opportunities between the audiovisual sectors of China and Africa.
Fang Han, who outlined how AI technologies are transforming content ecosystems.
Li Jiang, who presented trends towards premiumization in the micro-drama market.
Yilikhamjiang Ibragimov, who reported on successful China-Kazakhstan dubbing and co-productions, including the film Waiting for You in Ili.

The conference is set to feature additional events, including the “AI Animation Creators” forum focused on university contributions to Chinese animation, the “Hearing the Future: Ultra-HD Podcast Theme Day Activity,” and the “AI Audiovisual Creation Carnival.”
