A dentist in Port Hedland has been charged with allegedly indecently assaulting his female staff members.

URGENT UPDATE: A 67-year-old Derby man has been arrested for attempting to transport 1.8kg of methamphetamine into the Kimberley region, a significant bust that highlights ongoing drug trafficking issues. The arrest took place at a Halls Creek Hotel on November 28, and the suspect has been charged with possessing a trafficable quantity of meth with intent to sell or supply.

This incident marks the second major drug seizure in just three weeks, as authorities ramp up their efforts to combat drug trafficking from Eastern States into Western Australia. The illicit drugs were reportedly concealed within a car being towed by the suspect, raising serious concerns about the methods used to smuggle these harmful substances.

Kimberley District Superintendent John Hutchison expressed the profound impact of methylamphetamine on families and communities, particularly in regional areas. “Methylamphetamine causes immense harm to families and communities, particularly in regional areas,” Hutchison stated. He emphasized that local law enforcement is “relentless in pursuing those who bring this poison into the Kimberley,” showcasing a strong commitment to disrupting criminal networks operating across state borders.

The arrested man is now remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Broome Magistrates Court on January 5. Broome Detectives are actively investigating the case, with efforts underway to identify and apprehend others linked to the alleged drug trafficking network.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. For tips or information, contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or visit crimestopperswa.com.au.
