UPDATE: The Byron Bay Malibu Club (BBMC) showcased its surfing prowess during the 34th Malibu Classic at Evans Head over the October long weekend, with members of all ages riding the waves to impressive podium finishes.
BBMC members, including Nicole Abbott, Indigo Abbott, Mahli Abbott, and others, participated in this thrilling event, drawing competitors from as far as Brisbane. The competition featured professional judging and offered cash prizes across junior and open divisions, as well as a variety of other exciting rewards, including surfboards.
The BBMC, known as one of Australia’s oldest longboard clubs, has a rich tradition of fostering surfing talent. Members meet every second Sunday of the month for a surf at Wategos Beach, creating a strong community built around the love of the sport.
