UPDATE: A 31-year-old man from Springfield has been charged following a series of alleged break-ins, along with firearm and drug offenses, after police made a significant discovery at his residence on January 16. Authorities found heroin, methamphetamine, and a reportedly stolen motorcycle, raising serious concerns about ongoing criminal activity in the Central Coast area.
The investigation began last month when a motorcycle was reported stolen from a home in Gosford. Surveillance revealed three suspects breaking into a unit carpark on Whiteway Drive shortly before midnight on December 2, absconding with various items, including the stolen bike.
After extensive inquiries, Brisbane Water Police located a storage shed in Erina where they allegedly uncovered not only the stolen motorcycle but also a firearm, ammunition, and illegal drugs. The man was arrested on Friday at Sherwood Drive in Springfield, where police seized approximately 3.32 grams of heroin and 1.23 grams of methylamphetamine during a subsequent search.
The suspect was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated break-and-enter and several firearm and drug charges. Police have confirmed that bail was refused, and he was officially denied bail in Bail Court the same day. He is scheduled to appear in Gosford Local Court on January 21.
Authorities emphasize that their investigations are still ongoing, and they are urging anyone with information related to these incidents to come forward. The swift police response highlights the urgency of addressing crime in the Central Coast region, as community safety remains a top priority.
