UPDATE: The City of Casey is set to come alive with festive cheer throughout December 2023! Families are invited to kick off the holiday season with a spectacular array of community events, including carols, markets, and movie nights, bringing thousands together to celebrate.

The excitement begins on December 12 with a Community Neighbourhood BBQ at the Cranbourne West Community Hub, hosted by the Cranbourne Scouts and Venturers. This family-friendly evening promises a fundraising sausage sizzle, games for kids, and a chance to connect with the community.

On the same night, don’t miss the beloved Christmas on the Foreshore event in Tooradin, which will light up Western Port with food trucks, live entertainment, and a dazzling fireworks finale.

Prepare for a weekend of festivities! On December 13, the Gethsemane’s Clyde Christmas Carols returns to the Hillcrest Christian College oval, featuring host Kerrigan La-Brooy. The growing event will include rides, craft stalls, food vendors, giveaways, and a special “Christmas Miracle” gift for every registered child.

Meanwhile, the Lynbrook Christmas Festival and Market will showcase a lively mix of market stalls, face painting, stilt walkers, and a full stage program, ensuring fun for the whole family.

In Cranbourne North, the Friends of the Tulliallan Elms will host their third annual Christmas Under the Elms on the same day, offering a charming evening under heritage-listed trees, featuring a free outdoor movie, hot food stalls, and performances by the Melbourne Youth Chorale.

As the month progresses, the celebrations continue! On December 19, the Casey City Church Carols in Hampton Park will feature live performances, food trucks, rides, and a fireworks finale at Cairns Road Reserve.

The community spirit shines on December 20 with the Pearcedale Community Market – Christmas Edition, offering live music, festive food, and handmade gifts at the historic hall and gardens.

On December 14, families will enjoy the Warneet–Blind Bight CFA Santa Run, where Santa travels through town on a fire truck, delighting local children.

Two significant community events are scheduled for December 21: the Find A Penny Foundation Christmas BBQ in Hampton Park, seeking volunteers to support families in need, and the Turningpoint Lyndhurst Free Community Christmas Celebrations at Marriott Waters, featuring carols, games, and a sausage sizzle.

For those on the North side of Casey, Wilson Botanic Park will host a magical Elf Scavenger Hunt as part of their 12 Days of Christmas initiative, inviting families to search for Christmas elves with a reward at the end.

Looking for ways to give back? Numerous local charities will host soup kitchens, luncheons, and gift donations throughout December. Notably, the CFA Narre Warren will be making rounds with Santa on December 10, accepting non-perishable food donations at several locations, including Ray Bastin Reserve, which will benefit the Transit Soup Kitchen.

Additionally, Bk 2 Basics in Narre Warren is collecting toys for children until December 19, with plans to donate multiple gifts to each child referred by organizations across Melbourne. A Giving Machine has also been installed at Fountain Gate, allowing community members to donate to various charities in a vending machine-like fashion.

On December 20, Berwick’s High Street will see a festive transformation as Bodega on High collaborates with the Casey Council to host a special event featuring Santa, face painters, and local shops and cafes.

On Christmas Eve, the beloved Max Pawsey Reserve will again host its magical Christmas carols, a tradition since 1975. The evening will feature rides, food trucks, a Santa visit, and a spectacular firework show at 9:15 PM.

Lastly, for those who may be alone this Christmas Day or facing hardship, the Transit Soup Kitchen and Food Support will host a special community Christmas Lunch at 12 PM, welcoming anyone seeking good company and a warm meal.
