
URGENT UPDATE: Community Bank Gisborne and District has just announced a significant investment of $518,718 into the southern Macedon Ranges, funding 46 projects for the 2024-25 financial year. This immediate commitment demonstrates the bank’s dedication to local development and community support.
Chair of Macedon Ranges Community Enterprises Ltd, Mal Carter, expressed pride in their role within Australia’s largest social enterprise movement. “We return at least 80 percent of our profits to the local community each year through grants, scholarships, sponsorships, and donations,” he stated.
The bank’s total contributions since its inception in 2008 have now reached an impressive $4 million, a milestone made possible by its dedicated shareholders, staff, and customers who prioritize local engagement.
Key projects funded this year include the sponsorship of the Riddell District Football Netball League, the purchase of an emergency generator for Bullengarook CFA, support for the Mount Macedon Anzac Day Dawn Service, and backing for the Woodend Winter Arts Festival. Many other initiatives across the Macedon Ranges are also bolstered by Community Banks in Lancefield, Romsey, and Trentham.
