UPDATE: A scuba diver has tragically died after being pulled unconscious from the water at Fly Point, Nelson Bay in the Hunter Region, NSW. Emergency services responded urgently at approximately 11 AM on Saturday after receiving distress calls regarding a diver in peril.

Authorities confirm that the woman, believed to be in her 50s, was found unresponsive and quickly retrieved from the water. Paramedics from NSW Ambulance attempted to revive her on the scene. Despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries while being transported to Tomaree Community Hospital.

The victim has not yet been formally identified, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident is currently underway. Officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District and the Raptor Squad are involved in the inquiry, with a report set to be prepared for the coroner.
