
UPDATE: Five people were injured in a dramatic car crash involving a bus in Menai, following a police pursuit late last night. The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 PM on Thursday, when officers from the Sutherland Highway Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle traveling along Alfords Point Road.
According to a police statement, the vehicle failed to stop, prompting police to initiate a pursuit. Moments later, the vehicle crashed into a bus on Menai Road. Emergency services, including NSW Ambulance, were quickly on the scene to treat the injured. The driver of the car, a 17-year-old boy, along with four passengers—a second 17-year-old boy, two men aged 18 and 20, and a 20-year-old woman—were all transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening, but their conditions are stable.
Fortunately, the bus driver and six passengers aboard were unharmed. Police have since established a crime scene as investigations into the crash continue.
