URGENT UPDATE: Community groups in regional Western Australia can now apply for grants of up to $5,000 through the Racing WA Community Fund. Applications are open now and will close on Sunday, September 7, 2025, creating a crucial opportunity for local organizations to enhance community wellbeing and sustainability.
This third round of funding targets initiatives across the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Wheatbelt, and Mid West regions. The fund is designed to support projects that aim to connect communities, improve the welfare of people and animals, or promote sustainable practices.
According to Racing and Wagering WA CEO Ian Edwards, the fund has already made a significant impact in the past. “Last year’s northern round supported a variety of initiatives, including a Variety WA event in the Mid West, a youth outreach program in the Kimberley, and a road safety initiative in the Wheatbelt,” he stated.
Edwards emphasized the essential role that racing plays in connecting communities: “This fund is a great example of how we can extend that impact well beyond the racetrack. Whether it’s a local sports club, volunteer service, or wellbeing program, if your group is making a positive contribution to your region, we want to support those efforts to go even further.”
The Racing WA Community Fund is an invaluable resource for local organizations striving to make a difference. Interested groups are encouraged to act quickly, as time is of the essence.
