
BREAKING: A dramatic police pursuit in West Bathurst culminated in a crash late Saturday night, leading to the arrest of two individuals. At approximately 9:15 PM on August 3, officers from the Chifley Police District attempted to pull over a Volkswagen sedan on Boyd Street when the driver allegedly sped away.
The chase escalated as police deployed road spikes, successfully puncturing one of the vehicle’s tires. Despite this, the pursuit continued until the Volkswagen crashed into a bush on Green Street. Both the driver, a 40-year-old man, and his passenger, a 28-year-old woman, attempted to flee the scene but were apprehended by police shortly after.
Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to Bathurst Police Station for processing. Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
