UPDATE: The highly anticipated Hong Kong WinterFest officially kicked off today, November 14, 2025, transforming Central into a dazzling wonderland just in time for the holiday season. Featuring a stunning 20-metre Christmas tree and a giant toy-themed “Christmas Town,” this festive celebration promises to draw visitors from around the globe.

As winter settles in, Hong Kong has been adorned with glittering decorations, signaling the start of weeks filled with joy and excitement. “Winter Wonderland in Central” serves as the centerpiece of the festivities, where Statue Square Garden comes alive with enchanting displays that evoke the magic of the season.

Inside Christmas Town, visitors can explore a dreamlike world filled with giant toy decorations, including airplanes and trains, while classic holiday melodies fill the air. A miniature train, running every 20 minutes, offers perfect photo opportunities, creating a whimsical atmosphere for families and friends.

Excitingly, a Christmas market featuring 12 chalets will open on November 28, showcasing seasonal foods and festive gifts. Eight iconic buildings will also participate in the “Immersive Lights Show in Central”, providing an extraordinary audio-visual experience starting the same day.

Additionally, Chater Road will transform into Starlight Boulevard, featuring over 30 illuminated trees and a spectacular light installation that will mesmerize visitors. This transformation is set to be completed by the end of November, adding to the magical atmosphere.

Beyond Central, the festive spirit extends to popular attractions and theme parks. The Merry Balloon Park will open at West Kowloon Art Park on December 6, running through January 4, offering a giant inflatable playground and photo installations featuring beloved characters.

One of the highlights will be the first-ever Merry Balloon Parade over Victoria Harbour on December 28, featuring nearly 20 giant character balloons, marking a joyous moment for attendees.

Ocean Park is also set to dazzle visitors with an underwater adventure featuring globally loved characters from mid-December, while Hong Kong Disneyland celebrates its 20th anniversary with special performances and magical experiences starting in November.

As the city lights up, countless photo hotspots will allow visitors to capture their own winter stories and share the magic with loved ones.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has launched a one-stop platform, WinterFest Delights, to help locals and tourists navigate the myriad of festive activities and offers throughout the city. This includes dining and shopping deals, culminating in an unforgettable New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

With so much to see and do, the Hong Kong WinterFest invites everyone to celebrate the season and immerse themselves in the wonder of winter magic. Make sure to mark your calendars and join in on the festivities starting today!
