hume-council-urgently-seeks-community-input-on-local-centres

BREAKING: Hume Council has launched an urgent call for community input to reshape the future of two under-utilized community spaces in Meadow Heights. The Meadow Heights Community Centre and Visy Cares Learning Centre are facing decreased activity, and officials are eager to hear directly from residents on how these facilities can better serve local needs.

The council, in partnership with the community planning group Communityvibe, is conducting a consultation process starting Monday, August 25, and running through Sunday, September 28. Residents, families, and community groups are encouraged to participate and share their ideas on the types of spaces and services that would enhance local activities, programs, and events.

This initiative aims to collect valuable feedback that will guide the council in repurposing these community centres. The goal is to transform them into welcoming and functional spaces that resonate with the needs of Meadow Heights residents.

WHY THIS MATTERS NOW: As community engagement declines, the future of these vital spaces is at stake. The council’s initiative reflects a commitment to revitalizing local engagement and ensuring that community resources align with the needs of residents.

Residents can provide feedback through an online survey or by emailing [email protected]. All collected responses will be reviewed between October and November, with recommendations set to be presented to the council in December.

This is an opportunity for Meadow Heights residents to voice their opinions and help shape their community’s future. Don’t miss the chance to influence the development of these essential spaces. Share your thoughts and ideas today!

Stay tuned for updates as the council progresses through this vital consultation process. Your voice matters in making sure these community centres meet the needs of all residents.
