UPDATE: On December 13, 2023, a thrilling spectacle is set to unfold in Huskisson as hundreds of Santas will gather for the 20th Annual Huskisson Charity Santa Bike Ride. This festive event kicks off at 3 PM at White Sands Park and promises to create a vibrant parade of Santa-clad riders heading to the Jervis Bay Brewery in Woollamia.
The Santa Bike Ride, a beloved family-friendly event, is renowned for its dazzling display of Santas, elves, and even reindeer on bicycles. As the procession winds through Huskisson’s streets, Owen Street will be closed to ensure the safety of all participants while fostering a joyful atmosphere. This year’s event is particularly significant as it marks the 20th anniversary, with organizers aiming to break participation records and achieve their fundraising goal of $10,000 to support the Huskisson Rural Fire Service (RFS).
“We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with our community,” said Sanna Reeves, Captain of the Huskisson RFS. “Our sponsors are going all out for the after-party, making it a truly special occasion.” The event will not only provide a fun way to give back but also help the RFS acquire essential equipment to enhance community safety.
Last year, as many as 300 participants joined the ride, and this year, organizers hope to surpass that number. Riders will be seen on bikes, trikes, and even tandem bicycles, with many bringing along festive decorations and costumes, creating a lively and heartwarming atmosphere.
The community’s spirit is palpable as locals come together to support the RFS. The event is sponsored by local businesses, including the Jervis Bay Brewery, and supported by traffic management teams to ensure a smooth experience for all involved.
