infinity-mining-partners-with-orivium-to-revive-cangai-copper-project

BREAKING: Infinity Mining has just entered a pivotal memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Singapore-based Orivium Global Pte Ltd to rejuvenate its historic Cangai Copper Project in northern New South Wales. This urgent collaboration aims to deploy Orivium’s innovative extraction technology to recover valuable metals from neglected waste piles, paving the way for immediate revenue without the environmental pitfalls of traditional mining methods.

The MOU, effective over the next two years, centers around Orivium’s proprietary Super Oxidiser system. This groundbreaking technology circumvents toxic acids and cyanides, utilizing a regenerative, closed-loop process at ambient temperatures to extract metals from complex, low-grade materials. Notably, this system generates green hydrogen as a byproduct, making it a game-changer for sustainable mining.

Infinity Mining plans to process copper, precious metals, nickel, rare earths, and critical minerals from the Cangai mine’s smelter slag and oxide dumps. Revenues from this operation will split 60/40 in favor of Infinity after recovering operational costs. The Cangai Copper Project, located about 10 kilometers northwest of Jackadgery, has a rich history, producing 5,000 tonnes of copper, 53 kg of gold, and 1,035 kg of silver from high-grade ore between 1905 and 1917.

Once seen as a waste site, the Cangai location is now being viewed by Infinity as a treasure trove of potential resources, especially amidst the surging demand for battery metals and critical minerals driven by a global shift towards green energy. Initial laboratory tests have indicated promising recoveries of copper and associated metals, such as zinc and gold, which conventional methods might overlook.

Infinity Mining is now poised to redefine efficiency in mining operations, emphasizing low capital requirements, quick timelines to cash flow, and scalability. This proposal could also facilitate the reclamation of other toxic sites across Australia, turning hazardous waste into valuable resources while reducing cleanup costs significantly.

In addition to the Cangai project, Infinity and Orivium plan to validate this revolutionary recovery technology as the Australian ‘Alpha Project’ before expanding across Infinity’s extensive 3,700 square kilometer portfolio, which spans several major mining regions in New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia.

To further accelerate this initiative, Infinity and Orivium are seeking $2.9 million in funding from the Federal Government’s Cooperative Research Centre Projects program, with notifications expected in Q3 FY26. Initial efforts will focus on processing and rehabilitating the existing tailings and stockpiles at Cangai, with ambitions to extend the collaboration into broader mining activities throughout Australia.

The partnership is also collaborating with the University of Sydney to harness expertise in chemical engineering and environmental science, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable mining practices. Construction is slated for completion by June 2026, with plans for ongoing feasibility studies to optimize processing rates and plant specifications.

Infinity Mining, previously known as EcoMetalx, has made a strategic move to capitalize on the legacy of the Cangai Copper Project, aiming to turn yesterday’s scraps into tomorrow’s metal rush. If successful, this initiative could set a precedent for the mining industry, proving that sustainable practices can lead to significant economic benefits without sacrificing environmental integrity.

Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development as it unfolds.
