URGENT UPDATE: The Charlton Courthouse Gallery is alive with excitement following the opening of the “Birds in Focus” exhibition on October 5, 2025. Local farmer and passionate photographer Stuart Giles captivated a large crowd with his breathtaking bird photography, showcasing the beauty of avian life in their natural habitats.
With an impressive turnout of community members and guests, the event featured an official opening by Win Scott, who praised Stuart’s ability to capture birds with remarkable detail. “His photographs reveal the delicate beauty and personality of each bird,” Scott stated.
Stuart shared his creative process, emphasizing the blend of patience and luck essential for capturing the perfect shot. He revealed that he always carries his camera around the farm, seizing every opportunity to document wildlife. “It’s about seeing the fine details up close that draws me into bird photography,” he explained.
One of the highlights of the exhibition is the elusive Red-capped Robin. Once a common sight, this bird has become rarer. Stuart recounted a fortunate moment this year when he spotted one perched on a fence, racing to grab his camera just in time to capture the moment.
The exhibition features over thirty stunning photographs displayed throughout the gallery, with visitors expressing admiration not only for Stuart’s artistic skill but also for the vibrant birds themselves. The superb fairy wren emerged as a crowd favorite, further enhancing the exhibit’s appeal.
“Birds in Focus” is set to reopen this weekend on October 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing another opportunity for the public to immerse themselves in Stuart’s remarkable work.
With the exhibition drawing significant attention, it represents not only a celebration of wildlife photography but also a testament to the connection between community and nature. Be sure to visit and experience the stunning imagery that has everyone talking!
