URGENT UPDATE: Two significant construction projects in Griffith are getting a much-needed revival after being stalled for years. The Ngumbaaydyil Community Hub and townhouses on Wakaden Street were put on indefinite hold when the previous builder, Greenwich Build, entered administration.
This critical development was just announced by Argyle Housing, which revealed that Dall’Est Constructions has been appointed to reset and complete the projects throughout 2026.
Carolyn Doherty, CEO of Argyle Housing, expressed relief and excitement over this decision, stating, “We are very happy to be partnering with Dall’Est Constructions to deliver these important projects for Griffith.” She acknowledged the struggles faced by contractors during the lengthy delays caused by Greenwich’s financial issues, mentioning, “I am deeply saddened by the effect that the previous builder going into administration has had on contractors who have contributed significantly to getting these projects to where they are today.”
As construction gears up again, Argyle Housing has also enlisted Kidman Consulting to manage both builds in collaboration with Dall’Est Constructions. Doherty emphasized the human impact of these developments, saying, “These projects are about more than buildings; they are about people, connection, and delivering community assets that will make a real difference.”
The Ngumbaaydyil Community Hub is particularly significant, with plans to open its doors to local services and the community once completed. Doherty stated, “I am personally very excited to open the doors of the Ngumbaaydyil Community Hub and welcome the community and local services into this space once complete.”
While the focus is on these two revitalized projects, the Hanwood Amenities Complex remains on hold, as it is managed by Griffith City Council, which has yet to appoint replacement builders.
This development marks a turning point for Griffith, bringing hope to many residents and contractors alike. As construction resumes, all eyes will be on Dall’Est Constructions to ensure that these vital community projects are completed on time and within budget.
