URGENT UPDATE: A 29-year-old man has been arrested following a series of car thefts in Perth’s outer north-east. Detectives are currently questioning him in connection with multiple vehicle thefts reported on Saturday morning.
Police first received a report of a car theft in Aveley, which set off a chain of events leading to additional thefts in nearby Ellenbrook. Just after 9:30 AM, a Ford Falcon Ute was stolen from Liten Lane. “Further reports included the theft of a Nissan Navara Ute from a property on Starke Turn, and shortly before midday, a Holden Colorado Ute was taken from Hoffman Cove in The Vines,” stated a police spokesman.
Authorities quickly mobilized to the area, leading to the arrest of the suspect around 1 PM on Kea Court in Ellenbrook. The man is currently assisting police with their investigations.
Police urge anyone with additional information regarding these incidents to contact Crime Stoppers as the investigation continues. This spike in vehicle thefts is raising concerns among local residents, with many anxious about their vehicle security.
