UPDATE: A man has tragically died following a horrific collision between a car and a truck in North Ryde, Sydney, early this morning. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Lane Cove Road shortly after 1 AM to respond to the devastating crash.

The incident has left a male passenger in the car deceased before emergency crews arrived. The driver of the car and a female passenger were trapped in the wreckage but were successfully extricated by Fire and Rescue NSW. Both victims were treated at the scene by paramedics and then transported to Royal North Shore Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The truck driver, a 61-year-old man, was uninjured but has been taken to the hospital for mandatory testing, as is standard procedure in such incidents. Authorities have established a crime scene and anticipate that the area will remain closed off for some time as investigations continue.
