UPDATE: NEGS Armidale has just announced remarkable results in the 2025 Higher School Certificate (HSC) examinations, achieving an impressive ATAR of 92.85. The school celebrates three Distinguished Achievers, who have earned coveted Band 6 results recognized on NESA’s official Merit Lists.
Principal Ms. Liz van Genderen highlighted the significance of these results, stating they showcase not only individual student excellence but also the transformative impact of an all-girls educational environment. “The outstanding performance reflects the dedication of students, the expertise of teaching staff, and the school’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence,” she said.
These exceptional results are critical as they underscore the power of education in shaping futures. NEGS students outperformed state averages in nine subject areas, demonstrating remarkable academic prowess across the board. “I am delighted to share the outstanding academic achievements of our 2025 HSC cohort,” Ms. van Genderen added. “Our students have surpassed state benchmarks across nine courses, reflecting their dedication, resilience, and commitment to learning.”
The Class of 2025 has shown boundless potential, and the NEGS community eagerly anticipates their future accomplishments in various fields. Notably, the students who achieved Band 6 results include Lucy Coelho in Mathematics Advanced and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Ruby Holgate in Music 1, and Saskia Jeffery-Bilich in Textiles and Design. Saskia’s achievement is particularly impressive; she ranked in the top 5% of students across New South Wales for Textiles and Design. Her Major Work was selected for the prestigious SHAPE showcase, ranking among the finest HSC Major Works in the state.
The cohort’s highest HSC mark reached an impressive 95, further exemplifying the caliber of academic achievement at NEGS. Across all disciplines, 100% of students earned Band 4 or higher in subjects including Music 1, Ancient History, Chemistry, English Advanced, Legal Studies, and Modern History. Significantly, 73% of the entire cohort achieved Band 5 or higher in at least one course, reflecting widespread excellence throughout the year group.
