UPDATE: The Ocean Grove Neighbourhood House has just unveiled an exciting new program for February 2024, bringing a wealth of activities back to the community! This beloved center, which reopened in October 2023 after a brief closure, is now ready to engage residents of all ages with a diverse lineup of free and low-cost classes.
Residents can look forward to a variety of offerings, including arts and crafts lessons, physical fitness classes, photography workshops, yoga, tai chi, and even a repair café. Additionally, essential support services for job seekers and counseling are also available. These initiatives come as part of the center’s commitment to revitalizing community connections and fostering social engagement.
Stella Kinsella, the new coordinator who stepped into her role in December 2023, expressed her enthusiasm about the program. “I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the locals and hearing which programs are in high demand,” she stated. Kinsella emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting, “It’s been great to connect with former facilitators and groups who want to return to the timetable.”
The center’s reopening has already garnered positive feedback from the community, according to Connewarre Ward councillor Elise Wilkinson. “Since its reopening, it has been great to see how the community has embraced the offerings and services available,” she remarked.
