UPDATE: Racing is back at the newly renovated Wyong Race Club, with the first race day set for Thursday, November 16, 2023. Club CEO Greg Purcell announced that the track is in “sensational order,” promising an exciting return for fans after a hiatus since the first week of September.

The track needed extensive care after a challenging winter season, according to Purcell. “Given we raced through the winter period, which at times was quite wet, the track needed some ‘TLC’,” he noted. Thanks to the efforts of track manager Phil Robinson and his dedicated staff, the surface is now “cherry ripe” for upcoming events.

This racing season is poised to be robust, featuring an appealing mix of weekday and weekend meetings. After the opening day on November 16, the Wyong Race Club will host several high-profile events, including the prestigious Magic Millions Race Day on December 10 and Christmas at the Races on December 20. The season culminates with The Lakes Mile on January 10, 2024.

Purcell expressed excitement about the upcoming schedule, emphasizing strong community interest: “We’re looking forward to a fantastic period of racing. The interest not only from our local community but also from visitors outside the region has been incredibly encouraging.”

Whether you’re a die-hard racing aficionado or just seeking a fun day out, Wyong promises an engaging experience. Purcell encouraged both new and returning visitors to come and enjoy the festivities. “For those who haven’t been to Wyong before – or it’s been a while – come along,” he said.
