UPDATE: The Riddells Creek community is radiating holiday spirit with newly installed Christmas displays throughout town. The Riddells Creek Lions Club and the Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House (RCNH) have collaborated to bring festive cheer to Main Road and beyond, a project made possible by dedicated volunteers.

Justus Homburg, president of RCNH, emphasized the importance of community spirit in this initiative. “A number of years ago, the ‘Christmas In Riddells Creek’ initiative was established through the dedicated work of several community members, with support from local businesses and organizations,” he stated. This year, the program has blossomed, featuring beautifully crafted Christmas tree frames that have been decorated and placed throughout the town, igniting joy among residents and visitors alike.

Narelle McGellin from the Riddells Creek Lions Club highlighted a special addition this year — a Christmas tree installed at the local Riddells Creek Cemetery. “We invite family and friends to tie an ornament when sharing a moment for their loved one at this time of year,” she shared, creating a poignant connection to the holiday spirit.

The displays are not just decorations; they symbolize the resilience and unity of the Riddells Creek community, showcasing how collective efforts can brighten the lives of many. Local businesses and organizations have stepped up to support this initiative, reinforcing the message that together, they can make a significant impact.

As the holiday season approaches, these festive displays are sure to attract more visitors to the area, enhancing community engagement and local pride. Residents and visitors are encouraged to share their experiences and photographs of the decorations on social media, fostering a sense of togetherness and celebration.
