Suzi Quatro, the iconic rock musician, recently expressed her beliefs about the afterlife and her ongoing music career in an engaging discussion on the Mumbelievable podcast. The 75-year-old singer, known for hits like “Devil Gate Drive,” shared her firm conviction in reincarnation, suggesting that life on Earth provides opportunities to learn and improve from past mistakes.
Quatro, who lost both her parents, Art and Helen, years ago, noted that she views death not as an end but as a transition. “If you believe in reincarnation, like I do, it’s about lessons in life,” she said. Her reflections on the afterlife were influenced by her parents’ perspectives. She recalled her mother saying, “You always win with God,” while her father expressed a different sentiment, questioning the value of heaven, stating, “Why should I go to heaven, I won’t know anybody.”
Through her thoughts on life and death, Quatro revealed her unique sense of humor regarding her eventual passing. She has decided on a phrase for her gravestone: “Now I get it,” accompanied by another that reads, “So many dreams, too little time.” This light-hearted approach reflects her belief that life is filled with lessons and experiences to cherish.
Continued Musical Passion
Despite her contemplations about the afterlife, Quatro remains actively engaged in her music career. She is currently working on her 18th studio album, following the release of her 2019 record, *No Control*, and the 2023 collaborative album, *Face To Face*, featuring KT Tunstall. Quatro’s passion for music continues to drive her, as she stated, “I’m an extremely creative person. I always have been. I’ve always drawn, I’ve always done poetry, I’ve always written.”
The rock legend is also busy touring, performing approximately 80 shows a year. “In August I’m all over Europe, mainly in Germany,” she noted, adding that in October, she will embark on her 41st tour in Australia. Plans for the following year include ten major performances in the UK, showcasing her enduring commitment to live music.
Quatro’s unyielding creativity and dedication to her craft challenge the notion of age in the music industry. Her vibrant spirit and enthusiasm for performing continue to captivate audiences around the world, proving that her journey in music is far from over.
