BREAKING: Meri Pehchan Pakistan Inc (MPP) celebrated a remarkable 10 years of community service on August 16, 2023, coinciding with Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day in Sydney. This vibrant event brought together community members, leaders, and dignitaries in a powerful display of culture and unity.
The celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Qamar Zaman, alongside Australian Senator David Shoebridge, Member of Parliament Nathan Hagarty, and Deputy Mayor of Liverpool Peter Harley. Their attendance highlighted the importance of this milestone in strengthening ties between the communities.
This year’s event was not only a celebration of independence but also a significant marker of MPP’s decade-long journey. To honor supporters and contributors, MPP presented Long Standing Supporter Awards to individuals and sponsors who have played a vital role in the organization’s success over the past ten years.
The program featured an array of engaging activities aimed at educating and entertaining attendees. Highlights included a Quiz Competition and a Speech Competition focusing on Pakistan’s history and national icons. A new Star Spotlight Segment, introduced in 2024, provided a platform for emerging young talents to showcase their skills and build confidence.
The 5th Pakistani Youth Talent Awards were also presented, recognizing exceptional achievements in ten categories, including Academics, Sports, Leadership, and Performing Arts.
In line with its commitment to social responsibility, this year’s event supported the Education Cause of Shahid Afridi Foundation Australia, contributing to educational access for underprivileged children in Pakistan.
