URGENT UPDATE: A 19-year-old driver from Point Cook has been caught boasting about performing a dangerous burnout in front of police, resulting in his car being impounded. This incident unfolded during a car meet in Braybrook at approximately 3:30 PM on October 19, 2023.

Witnesses reported that the driver was executing a burnout on Cranwell Street when he noticed police officers nearby. Authorities swiftly issued a defect notice and arranged for a tow truck to impound his Toyota Supra. However, due to illegal modifications, the vehicle could not be loaded onto the truck.

In a shocking twist, the driver took to social media to brag about evading the police, further escalating the situation. As a result, police issued a surrender notice to the teen on November 6, 2023.

According to police, the driver will face significant consequences, including a substantial fee to retrieve his car after a mandatory 28 days. He will also be responsible for removing the illegal modifications. Charges are expected to include improper use of a motor vehicle and exceeding permitted dimensions.

Westgate Highway Patrol Sergeant Johan Wisewould condemned the driver’s reckless behavior, stating, “It is extremely dangerous to perform burnouts, particularly around crowds of people where there could be disastrous consequences if you lose control.”
