Tom and his wife, who have covered over 100,000 kilometers in their Tesla Model 3 before upgrading to a Model Y, faced intense range anxiety as they journeyed from Pimba to Coober Pedy with just 2% battery remaining.

Late last month, the couple set off with 97% battery for a nearly four-hour drive. For Tom, however, the comprehensive data provided by his Tesla alleviates most concerns. He trusts the vehicle’s predictions and often finds businesses willing to let him charge up. “We’ve learned to trust the car pretty well,” he said.
