UPDATE: Two women tragically lost their lives in a devastating crash on the NSW Central Coast early Sunday morning. Emergency services rushed to the scene on the Pacific Hwy near Wadalba shortly after 2 AM following reports of a collision between a sedan and a hatchback.
The victims, a 45-year-old woman driving the hatchback and her 38-year-old passenger, both died at the scene. They were reportedly returning home from a Lady Gaga concert at Sydney Olympic Park when the fatal incident occurred.
The driver of the sedan, a 49-year-old man, sustained serious injuries to his arm and leg. He received immediate treatment from paramedics before being transported to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
Authorities have established a crime scene, with the Crash Investigation Unit deployed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Both vehicles involved have been seized for forensic examination. A report will be prepared for the coroner as part of the ongoing inquiry.
