UPDATE: The spirit of Christmas is set to shine brightly in Ulladulla this weekend as local volunteers and community groups join forces for an array of festive events. Starting on Saturday, December 13, families are invited to partake in a series of celebrations that promise to outshine last year’s festivities.
The highlight is the Ulladulla Christmas Carols, taking place at the Ulladulla Civic Centre lawn from 6:00 PM. Residents are encouraged to don their finest Christmas attire and join the community for an evening filled with joyful performances and fun. Chamber president Matt Dell expressed his excitement about the event, noting, “It’s great to see local families come to the Carols each year dressed up and ready to enjoy a night of festivities.”
Before the carols, the inaugural Ulladulla Christmas Wonderland Spectacular will debut at 4:30 PM. Organizers Kathleen and Joe Basile have expanded the display into a larger space within the Civic Centre. This enchanting wonderland is sure to captivate children and adults alike, featuring dazzling decorations and a chance to meet Santa Claus. Kathleen shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I was so happy to secure the bigger room this year… we have much more space for our growing spectacular.”
Following the carols, at 8:30 PM, attendees can witness the lighting of the Town Spirit Christmas Tree at the Ulladulla harbour foreshore. This stunning display symbolizes community spirit and will be illuminated as a beacon of holiday joy.
Additionally, the popular Christmas Yarn Bombing project returns, adorning trees throughout the Milton Ulladulla area with vibrant, handcrafted decorations. Coordinator Elaine Rogers and her team have expanded their efforts, adding festive bunting to local shops, further enhancing the holiday atmosphere.
