BREAKING: Authorities in Nowra have arrested a 45-year-old man following a dramatic police response near a local school on February 9, 2023. Officers were alerted to reports of a man allegedly armed with a firearm and sleeping inside a vehicle on Journal Street.
Upon arrival, police discovered the man in possession of a homemade firearm along with an array of dangerous items. The seizure included a loaded weapon, ammunition, a machete, and illegal drugs, specifically methylamphetamine and cannabis, all found inside the vehicle.

He faces serious charges: possessing an unauthorized firearm, possessing ammunition without a license, possessing stolen goods, two counts of drug possession, and possessing a prescribed restricted substance.
Following his arrest, the man was taken to Nowra Police Station and has been refused bail. He is set to appear in Bail Division Court 3 tomorrow, February 10, 2023, as authorities continue to investigate this alarming incident.
