URGENT UPDATE: Authorities are seeking public help to locate a stolen classic car valued at $120,000 following a burglary in Moorabool over the weekend. The unique 1965 Riley Roadster convertible was taken from a rural property on Dicksons Road between midnight Saturday and 11:15 AM Sunday.
Detectives report that burglars gained access to a shed at the property, making off with the one-of-a-kind Roadster, identifiable by its registration plates 75672H. In addition to the classic car, an orange KTM 450CC dirt bike with registration 86278 was also reported stolen.
Detective Senior Constable Alexei Anikeev from the Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit emphasized the emotional toll this theft has on the owner. “This car is someone’s pride and joy and the product of hours of love,” Anikeev stated. “The Roadster is not something you see every day. It wouldn’t exactly blend in with Camrys or Corollas on the road.”
The detectives have released a photo of the Roadster, urging anyone with information about its whereabouts to come forward. “Someone knows something,” Anikeev added, echoing the urgent plea for community assistance in recovering this distinctive vehicle.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with tips to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or submit information online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
